Qi Gong (pronounced “chee gong” and also spelled as “qigong”) is called
the new yoga but it dates back thousands of years in ancient China. The word “qi” (or “chi”) means
life force or
vital energy of the body, and ”gong” means cultivation, accomplishment or skill. Qi Gong is specifically designed to harmonize, relax and enhance the body’s vital energy, using it to heal and strengthen every system throughout the physical body and subtle energy systems commonly known as the "light body."
Qi Gong’s gentle, rhythmic exercises mirror the movements of nature, especially the fluidity of water. Combined with simple breathing techniques, Qi Gong is uniquely suited to relieving stress, boosting the immune system, and increasing the body’s innate healing abilities.
Unlike some yoga routines, Qi Gong can be learned and enjoyed very quickly. It is perfect for people of all ages and levels of fitness as Qi Gong resonates gentle but powerful fields of harmony, tranquility and self-healing in one’s life.
